Mission: Our purpose is to improve, protect, maintain and expand the horse trails in the Pinckney Rec Area and surrounding areas for use by horse men and women, their families and the general public for horseback riding, horse camping and horse related activities.
Please help us make Kids Day in July a success by sponsoring a child or two so they can spend a day learning about the magic of horses!
Our ability to keep the trails open for your enjoyment depends on your support, please join us today!
Please check out our events!
We are enjoying our greatly improved staging area which includes a pavilion, vault toilet, large parking area, an improved hand pump well, new kiosk, new grill, mounting blocks, picket posts, and a gate for the back field. Much thanks to all, but especially PTRA President Sue Armstrong and Chuck Dennison, Pinckney Rec Area manager.
Our 2017 Spring work bee was a success and the trails looks great for this season’s riding, thank you so much to all who have contributed to the trails, this is how we get it done! Continued trail maintenance is an ongoing effort, financially and physically. Please join us out on the trails for a couple of hours when you can and definitely support us with your membership AND by buying flowers in the spring.
New improvements last Fall included shoring up a land bridge between trails 34-35 in order to stop erosion. And BIG improvements have been made and will continue into 2017 to the metal bridge which leads to Hell so horse riders can ride into the gorgeous pines and also to Hell for ice cream, beer and a burger.
Our 2017 events are now online, our unique Blessing of the Horse and Rider event was a success this spring, if you have not made it to one yet, plan on it for 2018! Video from the Blessing weekend is on the right side of this page! We will be looking for sponsors for our Kid’s Day event in July, which brings grieving children and horses together. And our wildly popular Pinckney to Brighton ride is October 7th, 2017.
